The 2027 political landscape has burst into high-stakes drama as African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar came out swinging with explosive allegations.

As political parties gear up for the grueling march toward the 2027 general elections, tensions have officially boiled over into the North-West.

Following what the opposition termed a disastrous outing for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna, the ADC selected Sokoto as a symbolic battleground to project its regional strength.

However, according to the former Vice President, state machinery is being weaponized to block their momentum:

The Mobilization Blueprint: Atiku alleged that security leadership has been actively recruiting and deploying hired protesters to strategic points across Sokoto—specifically pointing out an assembly point behind Zenith Bank on Koko Road where trucks have allegedly been stationed.

Creating a Pretext for a Curfew: According to the ADC camp, the goal of the orchestrated gridlock and street intimidation is to trigger a breakdown of law and order, providing authorities with a convenient excuse to slam a curfew on the state and shut down the campaign launch.

Vowing Defiance: Despite the roadblocks, sealed party offices, and alleged intimidation, Atiku made it clear that he refuses to back down, confirming that he will personally storm Sokoto to lead the charge.

“Our campaign will proceed, and I will be in Sokoto tomorrow, God willing, to address the good people of the state,” Atiku declared, adding a stern warning that any security official complicit in suppressing political freedom will eventually face legal accountability.

As the battle lines are drawn and security forces remain under intense scrutiny, all eyes are locked on Sokoto to see how this high-voltage political clash unfolds on the ground!
