African Action Congress (AAC) 2027 presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has broken his silence following a violent assault in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.

The political landscape has been thrown into an uproar following a violent clash in Ado-Ekiti that targeted human rights activist and 2027 presidential hopeful Omoyele Sowore and members of his campaign team.

According to reports, the incident occurred shortly after Sowore concluded a live radio interview at MIDAS FM 90.5. Taking to his official social media channels to break his silence, Sowore shared shocking images and video clips showing visible injuries, bandaged limbs, and the chaotic aftermath of the assault.

Accusing the authorities of complicity, Sowore made explosive allegations: ​Government House Link: Sowore claimed that the thugs who pounced on his team came directly from the Ekiti State Government House, asserting that they are well-known figures. ​DSS Complicity: He alleged that operatives of the DSS had been trailing and harassing his team since their arrival in the state, even going as far as intimidating local business owners who offered them hospitality.

Rejecting Police Narrative: Sowore strongly faulted the Ekiti State Police Command for issuing a statement classifying the incident as an "altercation." Maintaining that it was a coordinated, brutal attack, he pointed out that the State Commissioner of Police personally visited the scene and witnessed the extensive injuries sustained, yet chose to downplay the gravity of the violence.

As the video footage and images continue to circulate wildly across social media platforms, supporters, civil society actors, and political figures are demanding a transparent and independent investigation into the security failure and the physical assault on the opposition politician.
