Popular Nigerian content creator and streamer Habeeb Adelaja, widely known as Peller, has found himself caught in the middle of a major online firestorm.

When you live stream to millions of followers, every joke, costume choice, and casual statement is subjected to a microscopic lens. For Peller, a routine broadcast quickly escalated into a full-blown religious controversy that left his timeline deeply polarized.

The drama kicked off when the eccentric streamer popped up on screen draped in white fabric, playfully demanding that his co-host and viewers call him Jesus Christ. While Peller likely intended it as another viral comedic bit, the atmosphere turned tense immediately:

The On-Stream Clash: Unlike viewers who usually roll with his chaotic antics, a guest on the livestream instantly pumped the brakes, sharply cautioning Peller against making light of sacred religious figures or crossing boundaries that could be deemed deeply disrespectful.

The Double-Down and Defiance: Rather than backing down immediately, Peller initially sparred back, arguing that he was just wearing a costume and even dropping casual remarks about religion and tradition that alarmed the other participants on the stream.

The Damage Control: As clips of the exchange rocketed across X, Instagram, and TikTok, generating heavy criticism from netizens accusing him of crossing the line for clout, Peller quickly returned to social media to douse the flames.

“Yes, I'm very sorry. Yeah, I just wore that white cloth, I don't know it is a problem I am facing. Christian people, sorry... Yeah, I love you, Christian people. Yeah, I'm a Christian too, I go to Christ Apostolic Church,” Peller pleaded in his apology video, attempting to defuse the tension.

While some fans accepted the apology as a typical lapse in judgment from an unfiltered streamer, critics argued that his mouth often moves faster than his brain. Whether this will teach the internet sensation to tread more carefully around sensitive topics or simply fuel his next viral chapter remains to be seen!
